Wow! It’s been a busy two weeks. Much to my chagrin, I haven’t even had time to look at my blog (which I’m normally religious about) let alone write a post.

Since being a part of the Personal Branding Panel at the Ohio Growth Summit earlier this month, I’ve barely had time to breathe.

I’ve started a new quarter in school, began doing the P90X fitness program, started planning my wedding, and am working on more clients than ever at this job thingamajig. Pretty busy eh!

I’ve been trying…

Google’s Updated Search Index: Caffeine + My Thoughts
Google's new index called "Caffeine" has been in the works for quite sometime, but it finally launched on June 8th, 2010. If it does what it says it will, then it may change search in 2010 and beyond as we know it.

Rarely do focus my attention on newsworthy items or breaking any kind of news when writing this blog. I normally just take those items in consideration while try to teach people how to utilize SEO techniques on those sites. That is, unless something big happens, then I turned into your standard 1940′s newsman on the beat.

Although I’m far from breaking any sort of news (3 days late), I do think that it is very important to bring Google’s Updated Search Indexing system entitled “Caffeine” to your attention…

What follows will be…

10 Skills That Good SEO’s Possess
SEO's come in many shapes and sizes, but good SEO's have a certain skillset that is out of this world. Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound...

So you want to be an SEO aye? I’ll be the first to tell you that working as a Search Engine Optimization professional is a very cool gig, but doesn’t come without it’s challenges. SEO’s are a very special group of people (that’s just my opinion) that often have a very diverse set of skills and experience.

Just like any other profession, there are good SEO’s, bad SEO’s, and a lot of other SEO’s in between. Now far be it…

Is Social Media Becoming a Discipline of SEO?
Are you an SEO who is putting your head in the sand in regards to social media? It's probably time to change that.

Questions that continue to come up in conversations with some of my clients is, “So what recommendations do you have in regards to our social media?” or even “How should we utilize social media?”

It’s just then that one part of me thinks to myself, why the hell ask me, I’m just an SEO? Meanwhile, another part of me wonders if I’m qualified to give any advice on this subject anyhow.

That doesn’t mean that I don’t know anything about social media, but I wouldn’t call myself any expert by any stretch of the imagination. I see myself as…

SEO for Franchise Groups
SEO for franchises can be a tricky business, but if done correctly can be the centerpiece of your portfolio for years.

While working at People To My Site, I’ve had the opportunity to work with many companies in the franchise business. Let me tell you, working with a platform of franchisees is a whole different animal than normal SEO.

SEO campaigns for large groups of franchisees requires a totally different mindset, as it would be far too time-consuming and simply won’t allow you to give each individual site the amount of attention of a normal campaign – unless you have massive amounts of time and resources.

If you’re working alone or as part of…
