This morning, I got the amazing opportunity to be on Internet radio. The show, Digital 411 is a part of Talktainment Radio’s Saturday lineup and is hosted by Dr. Erika Pryor. The topic of conversation for today’s show was centered around better blogging practices and tools.
I’ll be the first to admit that I was super nervous as I’ve never done radio before. But let me tell you, it was a whole lot of fun!
I am super-thankful for the opportunity extended by Erika to be on her show, and I was privileged enough to be on with some very awesome guest co-hosts, Nate Riggs and Tiffany Odutoye.
Here is the link to the 2/19/2011 podcast. Enjoy!
Quick Background
The funny and amazing thing about how I got to be on Erika’s show today is that it really happened through a relationship we’d developed over the last 2 months through her personal blog and Twitter. She had recently fired up her blog and I came across it and left a comment. From there, we’ve been Twitter & Blog buddies and she extended this fantastic opportunity to me today to come on and talk blogging.
It is a true testament to the power of social media in terms of building relationships. Crazy stuff!
About My Guest Co-Hosts
Nate Riggs is the principle at Social Business Strategies. He works with mid-sized & large organizations to lead culture change so that they can adopt social media tools and Human Business Teams as a part of their communication strategy. He is a also professional conference and event speaker, presenting on a variety of topics and trends on how humans use the internet to conduct business, build organizational culture, and develop personal brands.
Nate and I have been friends for about 2 years, and I can personally say that he is as good as it gets in terms of social media and tech here in the Midwest. In fact, he is actually doing a pretty cool thing coming up in March. He’s a part of Team Cbus (and sponsored by Chevy), a group of local internet gurus who will be a heading on down to the South by Southwest Conference this year in order to raise money for Adopt-A-Classroom.
Tiffany Odutoye is the Founder and Chief Visionary Officer for Virtual Partner, LLC, a Virtual Assistance and Business Management Practice. She also recently launched a new brand, Talk Social Networking, LLC, to offer social media training and support.
Tiffany was really nice and it was a pleasure to guest co-host with her. In addition, she is running a really cool “Blogging Bootcamp: Beyond Social 101” later this month on Feb. 25-26. I strongly recommend you check it out!
A big thanks to Hannah DeMilta for asking an awesome question on blogging and SEO via Twitter today, as well as Cheri Allbritton for calling in with a great question about moderating blog comments.
Some pictures from today…

Not that you want to see them, but there will be a few more pictures to follow…Again, thanks to Erika for this great opportunity!
