I totally agree Tom. Blogs can be used as conversion-points if done strategically – although I would argue that the main point of a blog is engagement and education, with ROI being something that typically comes indirectly at a later date. But this is neither here nor there, the end game is to get people to do more biz with them for any marketing tactic, but a blog is less of a direct approach than other tactics.

Great post, Jake. You’re probably not surprised to see me ring in with my full support of corporate blogging. Obviously something I take very seriously. The only thing I think your post missed (perhaps point #8) was customer conversion. If done properly, I believe a blog can be a tremendous conversion engine – which when coupled with a strategic SEO strategy – can be really powerful at generating ROI.
