A great SEO tool called Mozbar was re-released over the weekend! According to Rand Fishkin, CEO of SEOMoz, this new-and-improved version of Mozbar is an SEO’s dream!
“It probably comes as no surprise that, just like nearly every other SEO in the field, I waste a lot of time doing the same tasks over and over again. With the new mozbar, I’m spending 1/10th of the time it took me previously to get that critical information.” – Rand Fishkin
What I like about the new Mozbar is that you can look at critical data without even viewing the source code, which allows you to do a lot of quick analysis work. This can be done via the “Analyze Page” feature, which is super helpful! For those of us whose time is very limited, it is absolutely critical that we be very efficient with what we do.

The “Analyze Page” feature allows you to see many key SEO metrics including:
- The URL
- Page Title
- Meta Description
- Meta Keywords
- H1
- H2
- HTML Text
- Bold/Strong
- Italic/Em
- Alt Text
- Meta Robots
- Rel=”Canonical” usage
- IP Address
- mozRank (for the URL, subdomain and root domain)
- mozTrust (for the URL, subdomain and root domain)
- # of External Links (for the URL, subdomain and root domain)
- # of Linking Domains (for the URL, subdomain and root domain)
The only real issue that I see, and this is self admitted, is the absence of the Google PageRank feature. Apparently, the idiots at Google (with their infinite wisdom and apparent unwillingness to accept free advertising) told them to take it off. I guess I don’t really care, as I plan to use this in combination with the SEOBook Toolbar for Firefox.
This plugin should interface with your browser pretty easy. Thanks to SEOMoz for this great tool, and I hope everyone out there is smart enough to take advantage of its features and efficiency when working on SEO campaigns.
